Freeway 04:22
Stand beside the freeway I try to catch a free ride Sun is setting in the west Will this night bring a helping friend Moonlight in my eyes Let it be my guide I haven't got no home Better if I'm moving - out on the go Walk along the tree line I think about what's inside Is it really a part of me Will it ever be a part of me So hard to know So far to go So easy does it babe We'll take it slow Standing at a crossroad I see but I can't decide Can I just stay right here Decisions are my biggest fear Sunlight in my eyes Let it point me right I haven't got no clue Of where to go or what to do Living in the best of times Just another easy life Is it really a part me Will it always be a part of me So hard to know So far to go Easy does it babe We'll take it slow So slow
3.
The Dirt 02:33
Want to run from my life in the city I fell in love with the plants of the earth and the dirt now give up Give up tales of our prosperity and give in - to Mother Nature’s gift, the wind go away far away Far away into the green just fade back like the scenery that’s where we begin to be begin now right now Run from your life in the city fall in love with the plants of the earth and the dirt

Retirement 04:20
In all of these instances I see all these differences between you and I should I keep my distance then or stay interfering with your plans All my sensitivity this world's intensity wears me out If my lack of presence is the way to get past all this I will go Society I'm retiring at noon I'll find a refuge in recluse Society I'm retiring at noon I'll find a refuge in recluse In all of these instances I still see all these difference between you and I is it best I keep some distance then or stay here interfering with your plans all my sensibilities this world's integrity wears me down if my lack of presence is the way to get out of this I will go Society I'm retiring at noon I'll find a refuge in recluse Society I'm retiring at noon I'll find a refuge in recluse Are you surprised to see me leaving oh so soon I'll follow through There's something new

Continuation 01:46

I hear laughing but it's not a happy time How do I go on smiling If I pick a poison that will drink me through the night Won't be left sad and empty Sad and empty Wasted again it's been wasted again Had my chance - it's gone Wasted again I got wasted again Had my chance to move on I hear complaining when there's work to be done How do I get this going If I find a passion that will send me through these days Won't be left sad and empty Sad and empty Raining again it's been raining again Wash away what I've done Raining again it's been raining again Here's my chance to run Noone wasnt to hear a single word from me no more Whisper my secrets to the door When I see the sun rise it don't need to make sense A new day comes another chance A new day another chance
7.
I miss the summertime I miss your smile I miss you by my side every mile I miss the summertime I miss your smile I miss you by my side All of these miles Remember all those nights we spent up till dawn now when the sun does rise You are gone All I've known has changed again days roll in - roll out again seems I'm on the run again I have got to change again with the season I will try to do better suit the weather I have got to run again with the aging I will try to do better suit the weather Seems I've got to change with the season I will try to do better suit the weather

Meteor Night 05:44
Relay the geometry of many distant moons systems that resound space and time existence was so certain with the midnight blues sunlight strikes I will close my eyes Carry me forever ancient endless sky no need for me to wonder why staring up forever meteor night canopy of silver strands of light Carry me carry me familiar night I'll swear that we're just fine Carry me carry me familiar night then sunlight floods the sky it drowns our mind Carry me carry me forever on familiar night we're doing just fine Carry me carry me forever on familiar night I swear that we're alright Carry carry me forever on familiar night Then sunlights floods the sky it grows our eyes Rest beneath the waterfalls of many fading stars they go down to die we can be born

about

S. D. Henhawke resides in London Ontario. They play an alternative folk rock style where acoustic guitar, keyboards, synthesizers, melodic bass lines, jazzy drums and flute define their original sound.

Shawn Durant was performing and releasing music under the name Psalm Trees for years. His songs were focused on universal topics of spirituality versus religion and people's struggle to balance with nature. Recently, he has taken a more personal approach to songwriting and has begun to use the name S. D. Henhawke... Henhawke being his family name on his mother’s side. His songs now reflect upon the struggles he has with himself in the modern world surrounding him.

The album 'Last Train' is the result of two years of performing live with his band and recording in the studio to share a body of work that represents something meaningful for himself and these times.
